Almost 1 thousand hectares of new vineyards planted in Dagestan in spring of 2024

In spring 2024, approximately 980.3 hectares of young vineyard were planted in the Republic of Dagestan. According to representatives of the Viticulture and Alcohol Control Committee of the region, the largest volumes of planting of vine seedlings were carried out in Derbent, Suleiman-Stal, Kaitag and Kayakent municipal districts, with 352, 234, 108, and 108 hectares, respectively. By 2035, the strategy for the development of this industry aims to increase the area of vineyards from the current 27,000 to 34,700 hectares.
