Dagestan agrarian company Polosa LLC will increase the area of hazelnut orchards by 30% - up to 3 thousand hectares by the end of 2023. Currently, the young hazelnut plantings occupy 2.3 thousand hectares. Thus, their area can grow by 30.4%. The company had also planted a nursery of 800 thousand hazelnut seedlings grown from its own materials on the area of 40 hectares. According to the regional Agriculture Ministry, the company grows apples, pears, cherries, plums, grapes, persimmons, kiwi, pomegranate, hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds and chestnuts.
