Dagestan breaks record for grape harvest, Derbent region leads

Makhachkala, October 28, 2015. The agricultural farms of Dagestan have collected a record harvest of grapes, executing the pre-scheduled plan. The harvesting campaign continues, so that the results are inconclusive. This has been announced on the press service in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic.
As of October 23, the pre-scheduled plan for the grape harvest reached the figure of 146 thousand tons. Thus, the gross yield reached a figure of 146.3 thousand tons, the average yield totaled 88.5 per / ha, the grapes harvested from 16.3 thousand hectares. Last year, the same indicator amounted to 130.3 thousand tons.
The richest harvest was yielded in Derbent region - more than 45 thousand tons, Kayakentsky district occupies the second place (around 32 thousand tons). Magaramkentsky district closes the top three rating list with about 13 thousand tons.
