More than 6 thousand hectares of terraces in the mountainous Dagestan have been allocated for gardening. According to the first deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Sharip Sharipov, these are mainly sites in Botlikhsky, Gunibsky, Tsumadinsky and Gumbetovsky municipal districts.

Since 2020, 5.4 thousand hectares of new orchards have been planted in the republic, a significant part of which is intensive. At the same time, the processing of fruit is increasing, to date the Republic has processed about 2 thousand tons of fruit. For example, there is a significant potential for expansion of orchards in Botlikhsky district. Besides, it is planned to plant intensive orchards on terraces in Gumbetovsky district.
