The leaders among Russian regions are the Chechen Republic with a growth of 7%, followed by Dagestan with 6.7% and Ingushetia with 6.2% in the first quarter of 2025. Among the regions of the North Caucasian Federal District, North Ossetia made it into the top ten, coming in sixth place with 3.9% growth and Kabardino-Balkaria with 3.4% growth.

Overall, the number of small and medium businesses in Russia exceeded 6.7 million at the end of the first quarter of 2025, which is the highest figure since the special registry of small businesses was launched in 2016.

As to the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov, for the first quarter of 2025, the number of companies and individual entrepreneurs has increased by more than 118 thousand entities. Today, approximately two-thirds of small and medium-sized enterprises operate as sole proprietors.
