The government of the Republic of Dagestan intends to restore annual mutton supplies to Iran, increasing the volume to several thousand tons, while also expanding its presence in other Caspian region markets.
Prospects for international cooperation were discussed at the first Forum of Caspian Region Governors in Iran's Rasht, with the participation of Dagestan's Prime Minister Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov. According to Abdulmuslimov, the export range for developing trade and economic relations with Caspian countries could be expanded to include other food products: rice, cabbage, fruits, grapes, urbech (traditional Dagestan paste) and various types of preserved foods.
