The tourist inflow to Dagestan is growing much faster than the national average, Sergei Romashkin, vice president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia says. At the same time, the biggest tour operator in Dagestan direction outlined plans to increase the tourist flow to the region. The PEGAS Touristik company will send 50% more organized tourists to Dagestan in 2024. Besides, the geography of departures from Makhachkala to the other Russia’s regions will be expanded by a quarter. In summer touristic season of 2023 (from April 1 to September 30) the volume of tourists sent by this operator to Dagestan has already tripled: from 12 thousand people in 2022 to 36 thousand people in 2023.
