High-speed highways to link Dagestan and Chechnya with Moscow and St. Petersburg

The construction of high-speed rail lines connecting Moscow with Makhachkala and Grozny may commence following the completion of Russia's inaugural high-speed rail route between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
According to Roman Starovoit, head of the Russian Transport Ministry, the primary objective is to put into operation the Moscow-St. Petersburg link online, which will serve as the foundation for the further expansion of this pioneering project. At present, the Russian Federal Transport Ministry focuses efforts on the initial phase of the project.
The initial stage is slated for implementation after 2030, with subsequent steps aimed at "opening up" access to Makhachkala and Grozny.
Notable, at the press conference on December 19th, the President of Russia V.Putin expressed support for the inclusion of Grozny and Makhachkala into the network of Moscow-Adler high-speed railway route.
