Approximately 17 kilometers of the new 70-kilometre main water pipeline being built from Chirkey to Makhachkala and Kaspiysk in Dagestan have already been installed.
According to the regional Construction Ministry, the required number of high-quality pipes has already been delivered to the site to ensure continuous operations. This project is one of the largest in the North Caucasian region and among the most significant water supply projects in Russia. Its goal is to provide clean drinking water to approximately 900,000 residents of Dagestan and to improve water supply in Makhachkala, Kaspiysk, Izberbash and neighbouring areas.
For the implementation of this project, the republic received an infrastructure loan amounting to RUB 10.5 billion. Additionally, funds were allocated from the regional budget. The facility will also include several pumping stations and control centers.
