In July 2022, a new solar power plant with a capacity of 15 megawatts in the town of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk was launched. The investor was the Hevel group of companies. Private investments amounted to approx. 1.5 billion rubles.

Since the start of operation, the Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk SPP has already generated over 28 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. It supplies the unified energy system, from where sales companies deliver it to the consumers, ensuring daytime consumption of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk and its environs.

The SPP consists of 40 thousand solar modules and occupies an area of more than 30 hectares (such an area is occupied by 40 soccer fields).
