The construction of the Novolakskaya Wind Power Plant, which is expected to become the largest in Russia with a capacity of 300 megawatts, is progressing rapidly. Since November 2024, seven wind turbines have been installed and the foundations for additional 23 units have been laid. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026 and will provide energy for over 240 thousand households in the region.
The Republic of Dagestan actively supports investors by offering land, incentives and project assistance through the Project Office of the regional Ministry of Energy. Moreover, Dagestan is also implementing other significant projects in energy sector, such as solar power plants in Derbent and Nogai, a wind farm in Makhachkala and small hydropower plants along the Samur River. These power facilities will not only create new job opportunities, but also improve the environmental situation in the region.
