The republican holiday of national culture, "Shavla" has taken place on November 7th in Babayurtovsky district of the republic. Creative collectives and artists from various municipal districts of Dagestan presented traditions, customs, folk songs and dances.
The performances included both cheerful Russian folk songs and folklore songs in the native languages of the peoples of Dagestan. Each song expressed the love for one's homeland, as national culture is primarily a feeling of pride in one's country.
The event was imbued with a unique ambience, enhanced by dancing, musical performances and theatrical acts. The cultural program was moderated by Sadiya Davetova, director of the Center for the Traditional Culture of the Peoples of Russia. She welcomed the guests and participants, setting the tone for the occasion.
All participants were awarded with diplomas from the regional Ministry of Culture for their contribution to the preservation and promotion of folk art. After the event, the participants gathered on the stage of the cultural center for a group photo as a tradition.
