"99th" tells the heroic story of a police and OMON detachment fighting off large-scale terrorists’ attacks for almost 24 hours in the village of Novolakskoye, highlighting the brotherhood and unity of people of different backgrounds and religions united by the common goal of protecting universal values like life, freedom, family and homeland. In the mountains of Dagestan, a few individuals became the backbone of their country, achieving a feat that has influenced the history of modern Russia.
The main cast of the film includes some of the most well-known names in Russian cinema, such as Sergei Marin, Irina Pegova, Pavel Chinarev, and Sergei Yatsenyuk, among others. Leonid Plyaskin is the film director.
