The members of the State Academic Honored Dance Ensemble of Dagestan "Lezginka", in collaboration with the State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble "Russia" named after Lyudmila Zykina, under the direction of Dmitry Dmitrienko, Honorary Artist of the Russian Federation, took part in the cultural program "Expo" in Chengdu, China.

The "Lezginka" dancers performed in Chengdu, with the historical and cultural landmarks providing the ideal backdrop for their colourful performance. The "World through Dance" programme immersed the Chinese audience in the unique world of Daghestani culture. They saw choreographic pieces from the ensemble's "golden fund", as well as new and dynamic productions that tell the stories of the lives, traditions and cultures of the different peoples of Daghestan.

According to Dzhambulat Magomedov, ensemble director, the average attendance at each concert was approximately 2,500 people.
