Makhachkala hosts IX Festival of Russian Folk and Dagestani Fairy Tales

On November 21, Makhachkala hosted the ninth annual Festival of Russian folklore and Dagestan fairy tales. The event was attended by children of 2-4 grades from the local schools, boarding schools, as well as students from institutions of supplementary education, houses of children's creativity and Sunday schools affiliated with Makhachkala Diocese.
Participants showcased their talents through sketches based on both Russian and Daghestani folk tales, aiming to foster a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Russia and Dagestan in this multi-ethnic environment. The primary objectives of the festival were to promote the development of the Russian language, preserve the cultural traditions of both Russia and Dagestan and instill a sense of inter-ethnic and interfaith tolerance among young children.
The festival culminated in a series of vibrant, joyful, and captivating performances delivered by the young participants, leaving an indelible impression on all who attended.
The victors were adjudged in a variety of categories, including: Excellence in Performance, Outstanding Performance, Masterpiece of Costume Design, Enchanting Fairy Tale Character, Magnificent Musical Arrangement, Stunning Stage Set Design, Outstanding Props and the coveted titles of Miss Obliteration and Mr Obliteration for the most outstanding participants.
