Makhachkala, June 26, 2014. The 7th international music festival "Port-Petrovsk Assembly", held in the Daghestan State Philharmonics with the support of the Russian and Daghestan ministries of culture, finished June 24 with a concert of the soloists and orchestra of the Volgograd State Theatre’s "Tsaritsyn Opera".
"This is relatively young crew, only 10 years of age. This is their second visit to Daghestan. They are an amazingly well-formed orchestra, sounding like a single fine tuned polyphonic instrument. Their conductor, laureate of multiple international competitions Yuri Ilyinov, is a man of a phenomenal ability to charge everyone with an inspiring creative aura. He is the one who brought the spirit of mutual understanding and a sense of a shared pulse that is felt in the ensemble’s performance.
During the intermission, he had no time to relax – he was soon surrounded by actors and seniors of the opera and ballet theater willing to speak to him and share their plans with him. Immediately, some ideas of possible collaboration were born," said the source in the ministry of culture. June 25, "Tsaritsyn Opera" soloists performed in Derbent.
