In a direct line conference, the Head of the republic Sergei Melikov stated that Russian film director and Mosfilm studio director general Karen Shakhnazarov expressed interest in shooting a film about Alexander Bestuzhev-Marlinsky in the context of Dagestan. According to Melikov, Shakhnazarov had discussed this idea with him.

Melikov recalled that Bestuzhev-Marlinsky, a prominent figure of Decembrist movement, was exiled to the Caucasus, where he developed a deep affection for Dagestan, leading him to settle in Derbent and make it his permanent residence.

A.A. Bestuzhev-Marlinsky (1797–1837), a prominent Russian writer, literary critic and publicist during the Romantic period, is renowned for his works such as "Amalat-Bek" and "Mulla-Nur," which gained immense popularity among Dagestanis.
