A modern model library will be opened in the city of Derbent, equipped with LED screens, interactive panels, office equipment, computers, including for people with disabilities and a digital piano.

As to the press service of the republican Ministry of Culture, the first public reading room in Derbent was opened in 1860. In 2021, the building was overhauled as part of the state program for the comprehensive development of Derbent. This year the library will be equipped within the framework of the national target project "Culture".

At present the ventilation and air-conditioning systems are being installed in the building. Furniture, equipment and accessories for the library will be purchased soon.
