Makhachkala, May 27, 2015. On Tuesday, May 26, the prime minister of the Republic of Dagestan Abdusamad Gamidov held working sitting on preparation for celebrating the 2000th anniversary of the founding of Derbent city. First of all, Gamidov drew attention to the need of gentrifying the federal highway segment from Makhachkala to the southern town of Dagestanskiye Ogni: referring mainly to the segment of highway on the territory of Kayakent and Derbent districts. In prime minister’s words, the above mentioned road facilities should get a well-groomed and well-maintained appearance.
Referring to the tight schedule and lack of time remaining before the anniversary, Dagestani top official instructed his deputies, in particular, Anatoly Karibov, as well as the deputy prime minister – the Minister of Economy and Regional Development RD Rayudin Yusufov, to weekly undertake working trips to Derbent, to personally monitor the implementation of the planned measures. "We simply have no right to fail the work!" – Gamidov warned.
In his turn, Anatoly Karibov briefed on preparations for the upcoming celebration in part of the cultural program in the period remaining before the anniversary of Derbent, and directly during the holidays: different folk platforms, festivals, the grand opening of the House of Peter I and a gala concert in the citadel of Naryn-Kala.
The administrator of the state institution "Derbent 2000" Ali Nurmagomedov delivered a detailed report on the reconstruction of streets and parks. In particular, in Nurmagomedov words, six streets and a park have been overhauled, the work on the rest of facilities is conducted with no schedule disruption.
For his part, Gamidov demanded not only to tide up the streets, but to adjust street infrastructure. Besides, the prime minister recalled the feasibility of using contractors to perform certain works for residents’ account (for example, it applies to redecoration of the facades of houses). Gamidov also urged city dwellers to take responsibility for the city arrangement issues: to carefully monitor the cleanliness and order, to regularly organize subbotniks (a day of unpaid labor, usually on a Saturday).
Particular attention was paid to urban health facilities. As to the Public Health Minister RD Tanka Ibragimov, the work goes according to plan; the facades, backyards and interiors in almost all municipal hospitals have been repaired. Among other issues, the Minister expressed a wish to provide additional "emergency" cars and an ambulance helicopter during the anniversary days in Derbent.
