Sergei Melikov, the Head of the Republic of Dagestan, has stated that any delays in the construction of long-awaited social facilities in the region should result in criminal proceedings.

“The construction sector in Dagestan is already in disarray, that is why it is unacceptable that those seeking easy profit get easy access to government tenders requiring strict approach to the selection of contractors for the construction of social facilities. The commercial companies are usually used to extract fast profit from the state contracts.  Such offices should be included into the blacklist” – Melikov said.

Dagestani Head also called on law enforcement bodies to adopt a unified policy against unscrupulous contractors. This will help to ban companies that misuse public funds without due responsibility.
