Dagestan authorities report on significant progress made in providing long-term care to elderly and disabled individuals.

Dagestan has achieved the target life expectancy indicator ahead of schedule by six years. As of the end of 2023, the indicator stood at 79.8 years, while the target was set at 81.1 by 2030.

The life expectancy in the region had increased by four years over the course of the past decade, attributed to a steady reduction in mortality rates and an improvement in the quality of life for older generations. As noted, the republican government will go on focusing on non-institutional forms of social service provision to further enhance life expectancy.
