Under the Clean Water state target program, four water supply facilities with a total investment volume of RUB 1.4 billion are currently being constructed in the republic. These projects will provide potable water to more than 49 thousand residents.
Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the prime minister of the region stated that the investment program would provide high-quality water to over 40 thousand local residents. This initiative involves the construction of 34 water supply facilities, with an estimated cost of RUB 850.34 million. It is projected that work on 13 of these facilities will be completed this year.
The head of the Cabinet underscored that the residents of several municipalities in Dagestan are deprived of access to potable water due to a multitude of factors, including the impact of climate change, which led to a decline in water flow at primary sources. Moreover, the existing water supply infrastructure, constructed in the 1970s and 1980s, is in a state of severe disrepair.
