According to Dagestan Public Health Ministry, the republic continues to hold the leading position in the country in terms of registered births. In 2024, more than 43,300 babies were born in the region, which makes an increase of 1,200 compared to 2023.

The birthrate in Dagestan surpasses the national average by 59.5% and the average for the North Caucasian Federal District by 7.2%. In 2025, the regional authorities intend to implement new nationwide initiatives such as "Long and Active Life", "Family" and "Modern Technologies for Health Preservation".
