Dagestan signs cooperation agreement with North Caucasian Federal University

Stavropol, March 23, 2015. Dagestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov and Rector of North Caucasian Federal University Alina Levitskaya signed a cooperation agreement where the university postulates its commitment to train professionals for the republic in view of its needs for specialized personnel. The document even provides a certain free-of-charge tuition quota for students who agree to be trained in the federal university to later return home for work upon graduation.
The 2 parties plan to develop their partnership in many areas taking the advantages of the university’s scientific base and extensive library.
The federal institution has signed agreements like this with almost all North Caucasus Federal District regions including Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, Kabardino-Balkaria, and Karachay-Cherkessia in addition to international cooperation they enjoy with universities and educational and research centers in 15 foreign countries.
North Caucasian Federal University was established on the basis of three largest Stavropol universities - North Caucasian State Technical University, Stavropol State University, and Pyatigorsk State Humanitarian University of Technology. The new educational institution provides unique opportunities in education, science and culture aiming to shape future leaders who will positively contribute to the country’s and world’s progress.
The priority of NCFU now is development of industry, technology infrastructure, recreational potential and socio-humanitarian areas in the North Caucasian Federal District. Currently, the university is offering 255 training areas and specialties of higher professional education. Its scientific library of is among the best in Russia storing more than 2.5 million pieces. The crown of the library is a unique collection of early printed books and rare editions published in the 17th century at the earliest.
