Dagestan will receive a substantial sum of RUB 1.45 billion this year as part of the national project "Data Economy and Public Administration Transformation", which aims to provide all the educational institutions — including schools and secondary vocational schools totaling 1,832 establishments — with state-of-the-art internet connectivity infrastructure.
The funds will be used to purchase essential equipment such as data storage servers, wireless access points (Wi-Fi modules), video surveillance systems at entrances and other key components.
As to Yuri Gamzatov, the Minister of Digital Development of the region, the involvement of the republic in the national project was made possible due to its readiness to undertake the task of equipping schools. This achievement can be attributed to the agreements that were reached between Maksut Shadaev, the Minister of Digital Development of Russia, and Sergei Melikov, Head of Dagestan, during the II International Caspian Digital Forum.
Within the framework of the federal grant, allocated in 2022, design and survey activities were conducted in 1,310 educational institutions of the region. Of these, 81 have already been successfully connected to the Internet.
Gamzatov emphasized that the implementation of this program in the republic represents a significant milestone in the process of digital transformation of the educational landscape, ensuring greater accessibility to modern educational opportunities for the local schoolchildren.
