This has been announced at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Nariman Abdulmutalibov. The meeting focused on the issues and targets related to the production of processed and canned fish products in Dagestan.
The Vice-Premier noted that in recent years considerable attention has been paid to the development of the regional fishing industry. This year, twice as much funding has been allocated compared to previous years.
Khadijat Shamkhalova, the republican Fisheries Committee representative, informed about the goals of the state program for 2024. The document, Shamkhalova says, envisages the achievement of 5.5 thousand tons of processed and canned fish products. According to the results of the first half of this year, more than 600 tons of fish have already been processed, which indicates that the set indicator for 2023 has been exceeded.
As to Shamkhalova, the capacities for temporary storage of fish have also been increased. It is planned to put into operation 4 mini-workshops for fish processing by the end of the current year (2 of them in Kizlyar district, 1 in Sulak settlement and 1 in Tyube settlement). By the end of 2024, it is expected that the volume of processed fish and fish products will reach approximately 6 thousand tons, in line with the planned indicators of the state target program for 2024.
