Russian Emergencies Ministry plans to train firefighters and rescuers in Syria

The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) has announced its plans to open a specialized Centre in Syria to train firefighters and rescuers. According to the ministry, the Centre will train specialists in firefighting and rescue operations. They will be provided with modern equipment and infrastructure necessary for training and exercises.
The deployment of the Centre is linked to the strengthening of cooperation between Russia and Syria in the field of emergency situations. It will allow to exchange experience and transfer the knowledge of Russian experts in the field of fire safety and rescue operations.
Syria, in turn, expressed gratitude to Russia for the assistance and support provided. The representatives of Syrian authorities note that the Centre would have a positive impact on the development of fire safety and rescue services in the country.
