The objective of the online contest for public recognition, entitled "Tourist Symbols of the Caucasus" is to identify and sel ect the finest tourist destinations within the northern and southern regions of the Caucasus through an open voting process.

Voting will run fr om January 17 to March 1 at www.caucasus.world. It is open to the local residents as well as the tourists from other regions of Russia, near and far abroad.

This contest serves as a valuable resource for tourists, assisting them in selecting intriguing places to explore. It aims to compile a comprehensive list of the top health, seaside and ski resorts, along with designating the region's tourist capital and primary attraction. Additionally, the competition seeks to highlight lesser-known yet distinctive locations within the North Caucasian and South Caucasian states.

A panel of experts has meticulously selected twenty nominees for each category, comprising twelve sites from the Northern Caucasus and eight from the Southern Caucasus. The sites of Dagestan are represented in the categories "Tourist Capital of the Caucasus", "Main Attraction" and "Best Health Resort in the Caucasus".

The selection of nominees was based on a number of criteria, including visitor numbers, recognition and the uniqueness of the venues. Experts also took into account the growing demand among Russian tourists for international routes linking the North Caucasus with Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The aim of this initiative is to establish a unified international tourism portal that will serve as a hub for destinations in the Northern and Southern Caucasus, providing valuable resources for future travel planning.
