According to forecasts of Rosselkhozbank (Russian Agricultural Bank, JSC), the rural population in Russia is expected to increase by approx. 1 million by 2030. This growth will be particularly significant in 10 specific regions, including Dagestan.
Over the past 8 years, since 2014, the number of rural residents had already grown by 1 million. This trend is set to continue. In the top ten regions, the increase in the rural population is projected to reach around 450,000 by 2025 and another 500,000 to 550,000 people by 2030.
Factors contributing to this growth include government support for agriculture, the development of rural infrastructure, digitalization and high birth rates. Additionally, migration to regions with a favorable climate also plays a role in this trend.
