Two new air routes to Makhachkala will be launched in 2024. The Nordwind Airlines and Red Wings companies announced their intention to launch two new air routes to Makhachkala in 2024. The press service of Makhachkala International Airport reported that the new flights will become regular and will connect Dagestan with Saratov and Ivanovo.

Noteworthy, in 2023 the most popular domestic destinations for residents of Dagestan were Moscow, St. Petersburg, Surgut and Yekaterinburg.

It should be noted that today the construction of a new runway at Makhachkala airport is underway, which will allow to receive aircrafts of all types. The implementation of the project will attract new carriers and expand the route network in the future.
