Magomed Bagandaliev claimed a bronze medal in the Russian Under-21 Championship in Ryazan, Russia. The Dagestan athlete competed in the 100 kg weight category, taking part in five matches. He won four bouts and lost only one, securing his place in the final.

In the final, Magomed faced Ivan Titinkin from Moscow, who won the gold medal. Vladimir Dosyak from Kaluga took second place, having lost to Bagandaliev in the semifinals. This was the only medal for Dagestan at the competition.
