Dagestan authorities concern about undocumented cattle imports into region
In 2023, more than 40,000 young cattle for fattening were imported into the republic from the other Russian regions. According to the regional Veterinary Committee, cattle were imported mainly from Khakassia, Buryatia and Altai. "Due to the lack of documents for imported cattle, it is necessary to immediately carry out analyses in order to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases" - the Committee officer says. Noteworthy, in Dagestan, livestock is sold mainly at livestock markets in Khasavyurt and at the Manas Fair.
