The Russian Winemaking Forum has commenced at the Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow, featuring a strong delegation from the Republic of Dagestan. The region is represented by three prominent winemaking companies—Agroline, Alvisa and Derbent Wine — along with three cognac distilleries from Kizlyar, Derbent and Izberbash.
As the largest annual gathering of its kind, the forum unites all key players in the industry: producers, experts, investors and distributors. This year's discussions are centered on a critical development strategy for the Russian wine market, addressing evolving state regulations and support mechanisms. Key sessions are dedicated to analyzing market performance over the past two years, reviewing state support for viticulture and exploring recent innovations in legislative oversight.
A highlight of the event is an extensive exhibition of Russian wine producers, which will feature tastings and masterclasses led by top winemakers. Experts will also share valuable insights on integrating Russian wines into the hospitality and retail sectors.
The first day will culminate in the annual Prince Lev Golitsyn Prize ceremony, honoring outstanding contributions to the industry. Established by the Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia and the Roscongress Foundation with support from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the awards feature prestigious categories including "Best Red Wine", "Best White Wine", "Best Fortified Wine" and "Best Russian Sparkling Wine".
