Mobile network operators have undertaken an upgrade of the communication infrastructure in four mountainous regions of Dagestan — Tsumadinsky, Kazbekovsky, Shamilsky and Botlikhsky municipal districts. Approximately 300 additional base stations and communication equipment have been deployed in these areas.
The operators report a significant improvement in communication quality in these regions. For instance, in the highland village of Khushet, located on the border with Georgia in Dagestan, over a thousand residents now have access to mobile communication services and high-speed internet. With the newly installed infrastructure, data transmission speeds reach up to 80 megabits per second.
