Daghestani craftsmen provide master classes in Sochi
Makhachkala, February 19, 2014. Daghestani craftsmen hold master classes in Sochi, the press service of Daghestani ministry of culture reports.
"Within the XXII Olympic Winter Games on February 7 - March 18 (except for a two week break from February 24 to March 6) the exhibition of Russian regions takes place in the Olympic Park. In total, over 50 workshops were provided within the entire period from the beginning of the XXII Winter Olympic Games, including the participation of two Daghestani craftsmen: a jeweler Abdul Gasanov and a potter Rustam Abdulaev. Daghestani craftsmen tell visitors about the history of arts and crafts in the Republic and the peculiarities of technique of making Daghestani craftsmanship"- the spokesman noted.
Kubachi silverwares, Untsukul woodworks with ornamental inlaid metal work on wood, Balkhar and Sulevkent art pottery were introduced at the showcase of the Republic of Daghestan.
Guests, visiting the exhibition, display big interest and take part in master classes amusedly, trying to repeat the works of the great Daghestani craftsmen.
