The State Academic Honored Dance Ensemble of Dagestan "Lezginka" participated in the cultural program of the XII Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia, held in Nizhny Novgorod. The forum's theme centered on commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Representing Dagestan, the ensemble showcased the region's distinctive dances and cultural heritage. Their performance was lauded for its exceptional artistry, drawing particular praise from Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. The Lezginka's performance emerged as a highlight of the forum, reaffirming the ensemble's standing as one of Russia's premier dance groups.
Dzhambulat Magomedov, the ensemble's artistic director, emphasized the significance of the ensemble's participation. Magomedov stated that their involvement transcended mere artistic exhibition, symbolizing the strong bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Belarus and Russia. Through dance, they aimed to convey a message of unity and cultural exchange, underscoring the unifying power of art beyond geographical boundaries.
Organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the forum focused on the theme "The youth of Belarus and Russia – heirs of the Great Victory and the future of the Union State".
