Fashion Forum takes place in Dagestan

On May 22nd, a "Fashion Forum" was held on the premises of the Armenian Church in Derbent, Dagestan. The event aimed to promote interaction among designers and sewing factories from different regions of Russia. The forum included a roundtable discussion on "Combining Modern and Traditional Elements in Clothing: Trends in Supply and Demand", as well as an online fashion show featuring models wearing Dagestan national costumes styled with modern accessories.

Special guest at the "Red Road" event was a team from the tourist project "EthnoEsthetics" aimed to create educational clusters for aspiring designers and promote cultural awareness and understanding of different regions of the country through traditional fashion, cuisine and events. The discussion focused on important issues related to the role and representation of women in contemporary society, as well as the potential and significance of fashion in addressing these challenges.

On May 23rd, the second day of the forum, there was a display of ethnic collections by 30 designers from Dagestan, St. Petersburg, and Yekaterinburg. Anna Tishinina, head of the "Ethno-Aesthetics" project, expressed gratitude to Munajat Hasanova, chairwoman of the Dagestan Designers' Guild and curator of the "Fashion Forum," for organizing such a significant event in such an historic location, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the heart of Dagestan - the Naryn-Kala Fortress.
