Dagestan has become one of the pioneering regions in Russia in the development of a digital vertical within the construction sector, having started its efforts in this direction back in 2022, Ruslan Magomedov, Head of the Information and Analysis Department at the Construction Ministry of the Republic of Dagestan says.

A series of practical training workshops were held in 2022 - 2023 to prepare specialists for the transition to electronic document management. The Project Management Information System (PMIS) was updated with data on 246 investment projects to be implemented between 2024 and 2026. Besides, more than 50 projects are now ready for the transition of executive documentation to an electronic format.

Magomedov underscored the critical role of implementing information modeling technologies in the successful advancement of the construction sector. As to the official, the Ministry is actively engaged in developing regulatory documents and proposing initiatives for Dagestan authorities.

The implementation of TIM technology is anticipated to reduce the costs associated with construction projects, albeit with a marginal increase in design expenses by approximately one and a half times. Magomedov proposed that regional clients incorporate stipulations in their contracts requiring design organizations to produce digital representations of projects.
