According to the forecast of the first deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov, the agricultural production in the region will grow by 5% by the end of 2023. This gas been voiced by Sharipov at the strategic session dedicated to ensuring food security in the republic.

As to Sharipov, Dagestan achieved high food security indicators in many areas, including the production of vegetables, potatoes and fruits. In the period of 1990 - 2022, the republic's meat production tripled and beef production doubled. By 2025, the local farmers plan to double the production of chicken eggs.

Besides, in the period from 2017 to 2022, 12 thousand hectares of new systems for rice farming were put into operation in Dagestan and 22 thousand hectares were reconstructed.
