According to a study by Tochka Bank, the number of entrepreneurs in Dagestan increased by 10.5 per cent year-on-year. Of particular interest is the activity in internet sales and tourism. The number of online shops in the region has increased by 65 per cent, thanks to subsidies for the costs of opening such businesses.

There has also been registered a significant increase in the number of travel agencies and tour operators (+28%) and hotels and hostels (+14%). Along with Dagestan, the top three also included Kalmykia with a 31% increase and Chechnya (10.7%).
