The Committee on National Policy of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan held a meeting on updating the law of the Republic of Dagestan "On prohibition of Wahhabi and other extremist activities".

Participants at the meeting emphasized the need for this law upd ate to prevent the spread of extremist ideology and protect the people of Dagestan from its negative effects. The representatives of the parliamentary Committee suggested several measures to address this issue. It is planned to complete and approve these proposals by September 6.

Earlier, the Head of Dagestan had se t a goal to strengthen efforts against extremism, with a focus on preventive measures to counter the spread of extremist ideologies among young people.
