The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, made the following statement at the third meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Cooperation, attended by the Head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov.

The Commission focused on discussing the development and furtherance of Caspian cooperation. The participants noted the increasing significance of the Caspian region and emphasized the positive and active work of its coastal states.

Lavrov highlighted the close collaboration among the territories and the federal authorities, as well as their active interest in organizing events related to the Caspian region. Representatives from other Caspian coastal countries were invited to attend the meeting.

The Russian Foreign Minister concluded his speech by expressing support for interregional cooperation. He recalled the significance of recent events, including the II International Caspian Digital Forum in Dagestan, which he described as a large-scale event with a diverse program. The minister emphasized the importance of making this event an annual occurrence and stated that the republic was interested in it too.
