The day before, Ruslan Abaskuliev, Assistant to the Head of the Republic of Dagestan and Director of the Dagestan Export Support Center, held a meeting with a delegation from Malaysia - members of the International Association of Islamic Business.

The meeting was also attended by Emin Merdanov, Minister of Tourism and Folk Arts and Crafts of the Republic of Dagestan, Gusein Guseinov, Head of the Agency for Entrepreneurship and Investments of the Republic of Dagestan and Khajimurad Omarov, the deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
The participants of the meeting discussed options for cooperation and cooperation among the business communities of Dagestan and Malaysia in terms of mutual development of tourism, conclusion of agreements in the sphere of investment, industry and agro-industrial complex.

The guests got familiarized with the investment potential of Dagestan, indicators of foreign economic activity, as well as prospects for the development of the main sectors of the economy, including tourism, industry, agriculture, construction sector, etc.

As to Ruslan Abaskuliev, the republic managed to increase export volumes by 20% and the number of exporting companies by 40% by the end of 2023.
