During his visit to Belarus, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan, met with Valery Rebkovets, the Chairman of Pinsk City Executive Committee.

The meeting marked a significant step towards the expansion of cooperation between Pinsk and Dagestan. Following his visit to Polesie JSC, a textile company in Pinsk, where cooperation in wool processing was discussed, the two parties explored potential areas of collaboration in the industrial and agricultural sectors.

Abdulmuslimov emphasized that Dagestan is a leader in sheep breeding in Russia, with around 5 million sheep and contributes 25% to the country's total wool production of 14.5 thousand tons per year. The top official from Dagestan also underlined the critical importance of addressing the issue of wool processing. The current production capacity allows for the processing of 3,200 tons of wool, Abdulmuslimov said.

As part of the cooperation, the parties are exploring the possibility of setting up a production facility in Pinsk based on one of the local companies. The wool produced in Dagestan would be processed in the country and then exported to Belarus for further processing into fabrics and yarn. The production of finished goods can take place in both Dagestan and Belarus, creating new employment opportunities and fostering stronger economic ties between the regions.

The visitors from Dagestan noted that Pinsk serves as a major transportation and industrial hub in Belarus, boasting a diverse range of industries such as timber processing, light manufacturing, food production, engineering, and metalworking. These aspects make Pinsk an ideal partner for Dagestan in terms of collaboration.
