Makhachkala, April 14, 2014. Daghestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov congratulated Daghestani Jews on the Passover holiday, the presidential press service reports.
"I cordially congratulate Jews on the bright holiday of Passover. This holiday, among the most revered in Judaism, commemorates the ancient events - the liberation of Jews from slavery and the attainment of the Ten Commandments taken up by entire humanity and forming the core of the generally recognized moral norms and values. For many centuries, Judaism has been and remains one of the traditional religions of Daghestan.
The Jewish community of Daghestan makes significant contribution to the strengthening of the interethnic and inter-confessional dialogue in the country and to the consolidation of centuries-old friendship of its peoples, promoting the principles of morality and humanity in our society.
Please accept my sincere wishes of good health, happiness, love and kindness. Let spring paschal days full your hearts with warmth and joy and peace and prosperity always live at your homes, "- the president’s telegram says in part.
