Sheikh Mahmoud Huth visits Daghestan State University

Makhachkala, September 22 /RIA "Dagestan"/ Syrian theologian Sheikh Mahmoud Nasser Huth met with the DSU staff and students in the conference hall of the university’s administration, the DSU press service reported RIA "Dagestan".
Chairman of the Daghestan committee on freedom of conscience and cooperation with religious organizations Suleiman Magomedov, DSU Rector Murtazali Rabadanov, and member of the Daghestan Muslim Board Shikhabutdin Gusseinov came to listen to the outstanding scholar.
Murtazali Rabadanov opened the meeting by introducing the guest and briefing on his biography. Then, Sheikh Mahmoud Huth thanked the university for the invitation and proceeded to speaking about Islam laying emphasis on its peaceful nature and its mission of humans’ moral improvement. He told about how Islam was making its way around the world via Mecca and Medina.
"Dear brothers and sisters, you are all Muslim, so you need to behave as true Muslims and do what our religion tells us to do, following the way of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him). Islam is no bigotry; it is not about trappings. Islam is forgiveness, tolerance, good relationships with others, and mercy. Islam calls for moderation in everything including religion," Mahmoud Huth summed up.
The theologian also warned the Dagestani youth culture against radicalism, urged them to study hard, learn and master the language of the Quran – Arabic.
