Two Dagestani universities win contest "Russia’s 100 top universities and research institutes"

Makhachkala, April 21, 2015. Two Dagestani universities won the contest "Russia’s 100 top universities and research institutes", results of which were announced in St. Petersburg as part of the 8th conference named "Problems and Prospects of Higher Education and Science in Russia" held April 17-19.
The winners were defined by the advisory council comprising independent public council with the participation of specialized committees of the Russian State Duma and the Federation Council, the institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Russian Academy of Education and Science.
Among the 100 winners were two Dagestani universities. The Makhachkala branch of the Federal State Institution of Higher Professional Education "Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University (MADI)" won the "Branch of the Year" category. In the "Best non-state university" category, the title went to Dagestani "Institute of World Economy".
The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas and gold medals clearly indicating that they are among the 100 best universities and research institutes in Russia. In addition, the heads of the higher education institutions were also awarded the "Rector of the Year" gold badges, and directors of the research institutes and design, engineering and technology companies were given the mark "Scientist of the Year".
