Dagestan Wins Two Gold Medals for Russia at U-20 World Championships

Ibragim Kadiev and Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov won gold medals for Russia at the U-20 World Freestyle Wrestling Championships that ended in Spain.
Kadiev, who competes in the 86kg weight class, first defeated opponents from Kyrgyzstan (12-0) and Italy (10-0), followed by a big win over Iran's Abolfazl Rahmani (12-2) in the semifinals and defeated American Joshua Barr (8-2) in the final.
This year, the native of Kayakent municipal district of Dagestan also won the European U-20 Championship and the Russian Championship.
Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (+92 kg) defeated representatives of Hungary, Mongolia and Iran with a total score of 33:3. In the 1/2 final he did not give a single point to Kamil Kurugliev of Kazakhstan (5-0), who was born in the Khiva district, and in the decisive fight he won early against the Bulgarian Sali Saliev (11-0).
Kurugliev defeated Amirreza Daliri of Iran (8-5) in the bronze medal match.
The American freestyle wrestlers won the most medals at the tournament with nine, but only one was gold (1-4-4). The Iranian team won seven medals, including three golds (3-1-3). The freestyle wrestlers from Russia collected the third largest medal haul (2-2-1), but they competed in neutral status.
