Dagestan and Azerbaijan Customs to enlarge cooperation
Makhachkala, January 26, 2016. Dagestan customs service together with the customs service of Azerbaijan intend to enlarge international cooperation. As to the republican Customs service officer, the international cooperation conforms with the interests of Azerbaijani and Dagestani peoples and aims at strengthening economic ties between two regions.
"The customs service establish the international cooperation in accordance with the plan approved by the Federal Customs Service of Russia. In 2015 Dagestani customs officials held five workshops with the customs officials of Azerbaijan", - the spokesperson of Dagestan customs service Zoya Amirkhanova stated.
According to Amirkhanova, the workshop participants exchanged current information, negotiated on the most pressing problems, agreed to develop measures and to improve the efficiency of the neighboring border crossing points and to prevent illegal trafficking across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union goods.
"During the meetings, both parties considered the issues of cooperation between the customs authorities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan related to the organization of uniform border crossing of vehicles, cargoes, goods and the elimination of delays for the trucks and passenger vehicles"- the spokesperson concluded.
