First Scientific Conference "Digital Region - Electronic Daghestan-2014" held in Makhachkala
Makhachkala, September 29, 2014. The first scientific conference named "Digital Region - Electronic Dagestan-2014" was taking place in Makhachkala 25-26 September to bring together officials from the Russian Ministry of Communications, Daghestan Ministry of Economic Development, and Russia’s regional IT-departments.
The conference aimed at sharing international and domestic experience in implementing federal and regional IT projects and programs. Participants heard reports by representatives of leading Russian IT companies such as Microsoft, HP, EMC, Plug and Play Daghestan and others. The speakers focused on new approaches to developing e-governments in regions, to e-document management, transferring to online services, and information security in government agencies.
Then ensued the first roundtable dedicated to «IT-technologies as socially oriented approach to implementing innovation." Speakers made presentations of their innovative projects, suggested ways to optimize already existing information systems, and addressed the challenges faced by modern IT companies while developing and implementing their products in government agencies.
The second round table was devoted to e-government and developing multi-service centers. Here, speakers presented their approaches, projects and proposals for boosting e-government in the regions. "Information security and regional security" was the topic of the third roundtable. There was also an exhibition for the companies to present their solutions for developing e-regions and providing public services. In various pavilions, there were some product presentations, consultations and negotiations.
On the second day, participants were told how multi-service centers operate in Daghestan. They visited the centers in Makhachkala, Kaspiysk and Daghestanskie Ogni and later had a tour of the Naryn-Kala fortress of Derbent.
